2008 DFA Reunion Notes:

At the 2008 reunion, the DFA voted to help fund the international Dare Family DNA Project!  This project, which is coordinated by Dave Bates, will allow us to prove our link to many other Dare families searching for their origins.  We sponsored 1 out of 3 Dare DNA tests in 2009, 1 of 2 Dare DNA tests in 2010, and more funds are available for 2011 for qualified candidates.

Are any of you direct male-descendant DARE men, man-enough to send in your cheek swabs?  It really is a simple and easy thing to do!  (Y-DNA only works with the male line)  Come on, we have made terrific discoveries with those willing to do the test!  Can you help make history?

Our Lyme Regis, Dorset, England Dares (who lived there since before 1265) are the earliest recorded Dares in English history.   We hope to connect to other Dares searching for their roots,  and to confirm that they are also descended from the Devon / Dorset / Somerset area Dare Family origins.
